Dan Phillips is a world-renowned pioneer in the construction of eclectic, energy-efficient houses using recycled and salvaged materials. “Attractive, affordable housing is possible and I’m out to prove it,” Phillips told the New York Times. Phillips’ company, Phoenix Commotion, has been building stunning, one-of-a-kind homes with mostly reclaimed materials for over 12 years. “You can’t defy the laws of physics or building codes,” he said, “but beyond that, the possibilities are endless.”
